The Holiness of God
|
In Isaiah 6:1-6, Isaiah sees an amazing picture of the grandeur and holiness of God. But although this holiness is wonderful, it's also problematic for unpure people. Isaiah couldn't cleanse himself to stand before God but instead had to receive the purity of something else, a coal from the alter. In the same way, we too cannot be holy to stand before God by following the law. The only way for us to be holy is for someone else's holiness to be substituted to us.
